40th Birthday of Southwest Airlines

Herb Kelleher – Southwest Airlines Founder thanked to parliament Texas Tuesday while stopping to mark the 40th Legislature with the plane ‘to the birthday.  Southwest Airlines when it launched in Texas in June 1971.

Kelleher called the Texas Legislature and state Supreme Court as “parent of Southwest Airlines” as an institution to grow both fledging airline found itself “in a constant battle with other airlines.”

Southwest Airlines dropped a bag of peanuts on the table each member of the House floor. Kelleher said he knew Southwest Airlines has made as late Bob Bullock (former comptroller and lieutenant governor) cited Blue Bell ice cream and Southwest Airlines which represents “the spirit of Texas.”

Over the last four decades, the percentage of American adults who have flown on commercial aircraft has increased 15-85. percent, the result is often referred to as the Southwest  Airlines effect.
